With something as important as your career and the next years of your life, I think this quote says it all:

This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.
Farewell; my blessing season this in thee!

-- William Shakespeare

You can do graphic work with a business degree, but not the other way around.

If you are unsure about others judging your work, I'm afraid that graphic design may not be the field for you.

Most of all, you need to think ten years down the road. What do you want to be doing? How do you picture your life? I know a lot of graphic designers who do consulting work from their homes and it is great for a part time position, but the full time jobs can be hard to get with the competitive market. If you have the skills, creativity and gumption to do GD, go for it. If you are hesitant, minor in it and have a major in business, which is more general.

This is your life, so don't do something you don't like. Talk to academic advising before you change your major. Make sure all your liberal studies (or entry courses that you would need whatever your major) are done. Also, if you can check other peoples portfolios to make sure you can do the work. And maybe check with the teachers that would be judging the work. Most of all, find something you like. A large precentage of students change their major at LEAST once. So do some research and find what you like.

Why not study industrial engineering which pays really good money. Or you could be an architect. If you really want to be a graphic designer i'd point you in the directing or animation for video games or a film like (finding nemo).

I think that you should complete what you've started, why let it go waste. Then you can go for graphic design. Maybe after entering you may not like it and think of changing to something else and if you do so, then it will look very bad on your resume. It will look like you cannot stick to anything and keep changing so don't let this reflect on your resume

Try to look at other's portfolios to see if you can do it. If you don't like business you probably won't like working either. Although business would make a great minor - especially if you are already studying it. Talk to the instructors, maybe admissions aren't very competitive.

How are your artistic abilities? If they are not good then it is likely that the teachers will reject your portfolio. If you can predict this is likely to happen then it makes no sense to waste money on the introductory courses.
