Where'd you get the 10 seconds from? Sounds arbitrary. The Chinese used to believe you were beholden to someone for life, if they had saved you. I think they had something there.

O yea I can see the speech on FOX News now from some Philosopher..."In deep consideration, what I shall do now with the ten seconds I have just achieved from my heroism to the dying public is..."(this is so nuts, I acutally timed that perfectly as if read as a speech)

I think all of that is a myth. For example we are all given our own independent lives and if you save someone that is a humane thing that you actually owe your very soul to do. But no one owes anyone for doing the humane thing. But humbly accept their thanks for we are not G-D. We need to remember that always.
