It means someone isn't feeling loved and needs some attention or some common kindness. Most of the time it is resolved by the other person trying harder in the relationship. Gain some understanding of how your spouse is wired by reading some marriage books, that may help.

"Cold Spell"? hhmm... Well there are many meanings to this...not sure which one you are asking about...I will list the possibilities...
1. It's cold outside...for longer than a week
2. I don't feel sexually needy
3. I was ill ("I had a bit of a cold spell last week")
4. I am not interested right now (going through a cold spell)
there are many others I am sure but I can't seem to think of them...maybe repost the question with a few more details ok

That it is cold outside. In the south (at least here in Texas) it doesn't stay cold long so we say it looks like we are getting a cold spell.

Not sure I have always heard "dry spell", kind of like when someone says they haven't had se# in awhile cause they are in a "dry spell". I hope this helps a little bit.
