OK I'm getting really disgusted at seeing all of these young girls on myspace with slutty pics!! Its asking for touble! WHERE are the parents??!!! What do you guys think?

These girls who are showing off their pictures are the same girls that are wearing all the trampy clothing, and going out and acting promiscuous when they drink.
this is just a different medium for expressing what they are or want to do in real life. 'You really think taking away a myspace account is going to stop them?
Best you can do is educate the girl around you on the dangers that it could impose. But this is only one of the many means they can and wil use if thats the kind of girl they choose to be.
Would be the same as saying lets get rid of all guns.
Its not the gun that is killing people, its the lack of parenting tt causes kids to do the drugs and the violence and the sex and everything else teenagers fall victim too.
So unless youre ready to attack every possible temptation out there, I uggest focus on those girls around you.
Or you can try creating positive alternatives for the girls in your area. But bickering about it without any efforts is useless..and its not the real problem here.

This is a very delicate question as it covers many topics simultaneously. Social factors such as peer pressure, "taboos" regarding education in certain topics, miscommunication, distrust and finally misinformation are in my opinion what takes these girls to behave like this. This is of course something that is wrong.
"Information" Technology is something that in my opinion should be strongly enforced and considered into a very close scope as its complexity makes it a separate world from what reality is. Keep in mind that technology is available to everyone and it depends highly on the user's purpose which obviusly includes situations as you described here.
One should analyze these scopes as a parent in order to provide and bring safety at home. Believe me we will always be parents no matter how old our kids are.

Because normal pictures do NOT get people writing back to you.
My son started out doing Superman ######## pages. All positive. NO one wrote back to him.
He went to death and dying, was flooded with responses.
We had to get Net Nanny to stop ######## from his computer. Got too many crazies calling and e mailing us.

I think it's their way of acting like an adult but hiding behind a computer. But they don't know what they are getting themselves into. And like you said where are the parents?

I agree with you! With all of the kidnappings, Rapes and what ever, I would think extra caution would be the norm! Not stupidity.

If they are slutty, they will just find some other place to be slutty so it doesn't matter.
