Holy pancakes! I never knew that Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman are on opposite sides of the Civil War. But anywho, I side with Iron Man. By having superhumans register with the government, we can keep tabs on potentially dangerous superhumans and ensure public safety. Then again, Captain America has a point in that people are entitled their privacy and maybe the government doesn't have the right to force these restrictions on superhumans. Guess I'm not quite sure whose side I'm on. All I know is that it's gonna be one heckuva fight.

I am not sure. I haven't read either in a long time. From what I understand, Cap is nothing more than a loser, these days. Iron Man isn't much better. Back in the day, Iron Man was number one for me, but I loved Cap, too. However, in a fight (using the 60's-70's versions) I would have to go with Captain America. He is the ultimate in so many forms of combat. Iron Man is the ultimate mobile weapon, but his tactics lack, compared to Cap.

This is an interesting question... Let me turn it around for a moment to give it another perspective.
If you lived in a world where there are real people with immense super powers (many good but also many bad and supremely evil), what would your response be?
I think most people would want them to register. It has little to do with whether you favor the government or are against it... as governments have a long history of wicked behavior.
People would want them to register out of self-interest, fair play, survival. They need to protect themselves from mind-probes, make sure sports remain fair (super strength, etc..), and a thousand other reasons I can think of.
Because the Marvel Universe is tame (none of it effects us personally) compared to what happens in the real world, I side with Captain America.
In the real world, if I had no superpowers, I would side with Iron Man. If I did have superpowers in the real world (depending on the life I was leading) - the decision could go either way.
So as far as the Marvel story-line goes, I'm going with Captain America.

In 'Civil War: Casualties of War', Iron Man tries to use Spider-Man as an example of why Registration is necessary by bringing up Gwen Stacy's death by Parker's hands (albeit accidentally). Stark says this would not have happened if Parker had been trained properly in the use of his powers and been subject to government oversight.
In essence, he uses one of Parker's most unhealed wounds as a point in an argument. Way to go, Tony. Nice to see you use your supposed friends' tragedies as reference material. I don't care if he did switch sides.
As always, Cap drives his point - and his view - home quick and with effect: he states that Stacy was killed because Norman Osborn - the Green Goblin - knew who Spider-Man was, otherwise the whole incident on the bridge would never have happened.
I had been against Registration all along, and Cap continues to convince me that the government can never be trusted with the identities of every hero. He points out that any marginally intelligent person could probably hack this information out of the national databases, moreso villians like Doom and the Masters of Evil (let's call the T-bolts what they really are, so we won't be surprised when they bite back).
I have been, and continue to be on, Captain America's side. It's not a matter of whether powered individuals need training and watching: they do, especially young ones. But the government is not the best instrument for this, as policy changes faster than Stark changes armor.
I'm with Cap.

I don't know their current argument, since I don't read comics like I did when I was a kid, but...I'd have to say Iron Man because he's about 1000 times cooler than Cap. I mean, what Cap stands for it great, but he's always come across as a bit...I dunno...goofy. Iron Man, on the other hand, is a badass.
