Most doctors will not induce early just for size unless it's a HUGE baby. If your last baby was 8lbs 8oz then it's a good guess for the next one, but each baby is different. There's no way to know until you are quite close to delivery if the baby is SOOO big that they'll induce

Hard to tell. I was induced with all three of my children... but not because of size. I was dialated to 7-8cm with each and NO contractions....Labor was less than 5 hours start to finish after being induced with each one. My first was 8 5 1/2 oz... 18 days early, my second was 7lb9oz 14 days early and my third was 8lbs 14oz on due date. I am currently 23weeks with number 4! Chances are if this one is TOO big, you will get a c section... but your doc should run numerous tests to see before going that route. My sister in law delivered a 9lb 15oz boy two weeks past due, vaginally. Don't worry about it too much. your doc will know what will be best! Good luck!

Typically a pregnancy should progress naturally when the baby is ready. Physicians should not induce prior to 38 weeks unless the mother is in danger or the baby is measuring very large and will do better coming out early. Try to let nature take its course.....

my first child was 8p8o also!but my second was 7p5o.so this baby could actually be smaller!they dont normally give c sections because of size unless the baby is really big for your body!my neice had a 10p4o baby and had to have a c section because they did an ultrasound and saw that the baby wouldnt be able to pass through.so if your doc thinks the babys to big for delivery theyll do some things first to make sure!good luck!

No more than 2 weeks. Usually they will only induce one week early.

It all depends on how well you have been taking care of yourself and your baby. I was induced on my first and only daughter Mariah Yazmin Nuno and they broke my water at 11am and I had her at 9pm at night so it all depends on you. But I will recommend getting a epidural because after I got that my baby was born way faster than she did before I got it. She only weighed 6 pounds 5 ounces!

My sisters son was 9lbs 3oz and they did a c-section because she was having complications. I have a friend who vaginally delivered a 10 lbs 3oz little boy. They try not to induce unless there is a problem.

That's not so big. I had natural childbirth and my daughter weighed in at 9p10o. She was the biggest baby in the nursery, bigger than the 3 boys born that night too.
