the proper name for the species is a cranefly.
not sure who gave them the name 'daddy long legs'.

sure is! they gota populate sumhow! the female can live up to 3 years the male only 1 so u prolly see more female than males spiders - u just didnt no it!

yeah, if there weren't they would be extinct by now! it is just a name, i mean wouldn't it be weird if the females were called mommy long legs? plus how do you think they reproduce? =(
