YES!!!
In fact, this is one of the ways that I am able to keep myself from taking vengeance on those who were abusive to me for being gay. I just say a prayer that the Lord will make them understand what it feels like. That way, either they will wise up and stop. Or when they sin against gays, they do so IN KNOWLEDGE. This means that they will be judged even more harshly when the time comes.
May you know the Lord Jesus, and have peace.

I am not a homophobe, and I have a gay couple that I am very close friends with...WITH THAT BEING SAID, I do not know what it is like to be gay...I don't think that it can be fully understood unless you are a part of it. I treat them as a couple...they go one dates, love one another, are faithful, have fights, and all of the other normal relationship things!
I would love to be gay for a day just for the experience!

Yeah I think something like that would be cool. Impractical, but cool.
For anyone interested there are actually a lot of exercises designed to put people who traditionally have power and privilege in a position where they don't anymore. And some of them are not specific to any one type of oppression. It gets some really insightful realizations from people.

Better question: Wouldn't it be great if homosexuals would stop putting the label of "homophobe" on those who differ with their political or social agenda? Just because I don't agree with you does not mean that I am fearful of you. Quite to the contrary, you would be suprised how many "homophobes" have no fear nor as much dissagreement with your stance as you may believe.
So, you are getting tired of explaining how it feels to be gay huh? Well, don't advertise that you are different, or unique, or special, or however you want to express it. You are lucky. Homosexuals don't need to publicly divulge their identity regarding their sexual preference. You can largely be annonymous. Think of those who cannot blend into the population at large. Those whose ethnicity is different from the general population, those with a physical affliction, or recognizable celebrities simply cannot hide.
Because of their differences, they may attract attention, curiousity, and questions by those trying to learn or identify or appreciate those differences. Unfortunately, we never can fully understand the lives of others unless we live in the same circumstances.
As a caucasian raised in a judeo/christian society, I cannot fathom what it is like to be a muslim of arab descent no more than I can understand what it means to be gay or to be the opposite gender.
Wouldn't it be great if you could be a Budist monk for a day, an African bushman, a prostitute hooked on crack? Sometimes, the only way we can identify with other people is to ask them about their life and experiences.
So, the next time sombody is asking those questions, consider that it may be more curiosity than anything else. They are trying to learn about you. You are a minority. Gays have been begging to be understood, respected, accepted, granted equal rights under different circumstances, to be granted specific protection under the law in excess of other classes of people, and yet YOU complain that somebody is asking you questions largely in pursuit of the very things the Gay community says it is being denied. Try a different perspective. Wouldn't it be great if you were to live the life of a "homophobe" for a day? Peace to you.

One day is not enough. They should walk in our shoes for one full year - long enough to be exposed to the cruel jokes, the evil glances, the shoves in public, the christian rantings, and etc.
See answers above as an example of what Im talking about

what makes you think that homophobes want to know what its like to be gay? Its probably the truly open and curious that ask, and you're alienating them with your b!tchy attitude.
