so I bought a set of those square shelves that you hang, and I put my houseplant on top of the shelf, well, the whole shelf fell this morning and the plant broke apart, I picked it up and put it back in it's dirt but found that the plant and roots are in tact still but there just not one big spring of plant but like 5. is there any thing I should do to help my plant out other than just placing it back in the soil????

Just replant -- should be okay. Good luck!

You didn't say what type of plant, however, you can divide many plants by separating them...sounds like you can do this to the one that fell....separte each one into a separate pot and replenish with dirt, etc..... or just put it back into the same pot and give it some water to resettle the roots

Re-pot it quickly and give it a nice drink of water. It never hurts to give it a shot of plant vitamin B-1 for transplant shock. Its a little bottle called Superthrive and it works wonders when re-potting things.
