Not all people see their pets or animals as "best buddies" or what ever. Some see them as "just an animal". Sad that they do not ever feel the bond that a lot of others do with their pets, but that is life. I am sorry for your friends loss, I have lost some horses as well, not a sudden death, which I think would be harder to deal with. However, you cannot dwell on how others feel about the way your friend is handling things. Just be there for her, support her and help in anyway you can.

my best guess is just braid it like you braid your own hair! i have never heard of that. cool idea!
