Lil anything, any thing with lil in the front of it. Most female slang names is always something sweet like coaco, Chocolate, pumkin, or candy. Most nicknames can be based upon Race, what you do, or how you look.
Chocolate( means your darkskinned)
Blue eyes( normally if you have blue eyes)
Slim ( if your skinny or slim)
Big D( if you're big)
Trap( if you sell drugs: Trap house: Place where you sell drugs) these are examples and I hope they help you.

From what I have seen, most gangster names were based on an outstanding physical characteristic, a well noticed habit or by something loved by the gangster. It could be mocking, silly, serious or downright mysterious if you weren't there to match the name with the person. Imagine being called Potatoes, The Nose, Fingers, Smiley, Twitch, Mugsy, Sparkles, Curly, or Spike? (These are all actual gangster nicknames.) Silly now, right? But, we really don't know if the guy liked potatoes, used them as a kid to block a tailpipe, grew them or threw them or whatever.

So, anything at all is fair game. Once you have the feel for your character's personality, choose the nickname. Don't be afraid to use your own name in it... like Frankie Smiles, Cheesecake Smith, or Joe the Rabbit.

Gangsters are usually people who have little self esteem, which is why they cannot get along in the real world, so they turn to crime. So to bolster one's ego, a good name would be "Somebody". Then he can always say he is Somebody.

Ned Reilly has a ring about it and you can definitely put in a name like Aussie George. The name you use should include if possible a defining nickname.
