We go to church on Christmas Eve. It is usually a short sermon and mostly singing Christmas songs. It is a nice relaxing time. Then we usually come home and open presents because we have a couple of places to go on Christmas day. We save the stockings for Christmas morning though.

No, we do not go a church for Christmas Eve services. We have a slightly different tradition, we sit and watch midnight mass delivered by the Pope in Rome, on Christmas Eve.
Merry Christmas.

When Christmas Eve falls on Sunday, my family always goes. It is the higher calling of God to man. Most churches around here will cancel night services if it is Christmas Eve.

Well, I think a lot more people will be going to Church on Christmas Eve this year, since Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday. But the way I see it, if I dont' go to church any other day of the year, why go on December 24th?

I think it all depends on what the whole family wants to do. Sometimes we go and sometimes we stay home.
Either way , we try to make Christmas Eve a peaceful , reflective time to be with each other and reflect about Christmas and what it means to us.
We are a mixed family when it comes to religion. Some are Christians , some are not. So , we try to compromise and make sure everyone is happy.

No, I never go to church, where they pretend to talk to magical fairy-tale people in the sky that don't exist.
Did you know that not a single American non-catholic church had any services at all on christmas eve or christmas day from the time the Pilgrims landed here until the 1840's, nearly 200 years? Did you know that "christmas" is just a shortened form of "christ's mass," the catholic mass that came to be celebrated on Dec. 25th in the 7th-8th century CE when they took over the pagan saturnalia holiday and decided to call it jesus' birthday even though they knew it wasn't?
Happy Solstice tomorrow :)

It's funny. I think that is a great question. The answer by Locomonohijoh states that sunday is a day we normally go to church. That works. ty
