Ok, most of you know that Yoda lived to be 900 years old, my question is did he live that long because of the force or simply because Yoda's species lives a very long time, or perhaps a combination of both?

It is never stated, in some of the exdended universe books luke trys to find out yodas species and if they normally live long or if it was just the force but he was never able to find anything.

According to Wookiepedia, the known members of Yoda's species (unknown tridactyl species(UTS) all were Jedi and lived to more than 100 years. Yaddle, a female UTS, lived only about 350 years. Yoda could have had a combo of UTS and Force.

i think it was kinda a mixture but probably mostly the force beacause in the movie it doesn't show any other Yoda's just him i always wonderen where the rest of his kind is

Well, current lore states that he may not have been "900" years old in "Earth" or "Coruscant" years but maybe his world had a faster orbit around it's sun or maybe, like other Jedi (Obi-Wan especially) he was prone to exaggerations. 900 years meaning a very long time. im not sure... they never really said what yoda is.... but its probably his species because luke got older and so did darth vader n didnt they have powers close to yoda? i think darth vader had greater he just needed to learn how to use them

I always thought he just drank a lot of carrot juice to stay healthy and that's what did it. Also, the force is measured by those mediclorian things in your blood so it seems to me that the Force is some kind of disease.
