For a couple living around Philadelphia. Preferably nothing downtown or in another city. Any places in general, a category?

SOmeone else mentioned Northern Liberties...that's definitely worth taking a look but I have no idea what could be in Port Richmond. You coud also hit Old City and be close to the fireworks, but I think it will be crowded. Ditto with South Street, but if you're older, I'd stay away from there altogether...probably won't like it. There are a lot of parties where you have to pay ahead of time to get in, but a few have decided to skip that altogether and are offering free admission.
It will be crowded and hard to get around, but tons of people will be out and the Mummers is the next morning.

Have the party at your house, you won't have to drive!!
Take a TAXI wherever you go and live it up!!!
Just call a cab and have them drop you off in the coolest downtown bar and club row!!!
we did that one year!!!
oh--- and call your cab and leave at 1:30 you will never get a cab at 2 am.

I know Philly has some fun trendy areas but I can't think of any.. Try N Liberties/Port Richmond.. If not then I know New York's Chelsea, SoHo, and TriBeCa would all have things to do..
