You are thinking of him as a "friend." He's not. He's your kid. Paddle his butt, ground him for a couple months, take the earring and let the piercing grow closed. He WANTS you to discipline him.

He wanted his ears pierce, so he had this done. You did not say how old your son. The people who he is around at school probly have there ears pierce. I think that if he is like 17 it is time to understand that he thinks he is an adult or will be soon.

it doesnt necessarily mean he is rebelling he might have done it just because he really wanted it and was angry that you did not permit him to get it pierced. I think you should talk to him about why he did it and disobeyed your orders and why he couldnt wait until maybe you were okay with him getting the piercing. Tell him that you didnt want him to get it pierced for a reason and you were just worried that he might get some kind of infection. Let him know that by him doing that with out your permission really hurt you and has now caused you to loose his trust and now you are most likely not going to allow him with permission to do things like that anymore because of that. Good luck with him but dont stress out or scream at him...it'll just make things worse!!!

Maybe you overempasized your lectures about not piercing his ear and he decided to be against you. Sometimes kids are annoyed by their parents and decide to rebel. I suggest you give him some breathing room and pretend as realistically as you can, to be okay with it. Oh, and next time he rebels, give yourself kudos for being alarmed about it but not letting it show. Try this technique, it's sure to work a charm! Also, if you are overly alarmed, then go on and give him a lecure. How is it to help, I mean he's already gotten it! So don't give him a total lecture, surprise him by compliment his stud and saying enviously that it'll be a definite girl magnet. He'll seem surprised and taken aback to even say a word!

Sometimes, if you push your children too hard in one direction just out of spite, they will automatically want to do the opposite of what you tell them to do.
I would suggest sitting him down and letting him know how hurt you are by his actions and then ask him why he pierced his ear, plus, let him know he can talk to you if there is some other reasoning behind his getting his ear pierced.
I hope things get worked out. :)

her did it just because you told him not to! just take a deep breath. don't yell at him. he's expressing his individuality. Ask him why he wanted his ears pierced so bad. Tell him to take out the earing, and wait 6months. in six months ask him if he still wants it pierced. if he does, then that means that he really wanted the piercing. But then again, we're talking about a teenage guy, so this prolly won't help.

The person who said, "1 piercing wouldn't hurt" is very wrong! You must show him the error of his ways, remove it if need be. He will try to rebel further, if this keeps happening, there is no telling where he may end up.

I think earrings on guys look stupid, but I wouldn't let it crush me if my kid got one. I would be mad and disappointed, but if that is the worst thing he does, I would get over it.
I think the problem goes beyond the earring. He flat out disobeyed you, and that is wrong. Communication is key. Talk to him and make him answer for his actions. It should be about the principal, not the fact that he put a little hole in his ear.

Because your son has his own thoughts and desires, and if you take those away from him he becomes pretty much a slave of your desires. Later on in life he will apreciate that you give him his space and he may acknowledge that as respect, so he will respect others understanding that we all have different desires and reasons to be here.
SUERTE!

come on now how long has he been your son?
you must always agree with him on things tell him he looks cool and that all the kids will love it that will make him think twice. i bet hes a teenager and we all know they will always make bad decitions and not follow anything you say. make him feel guilty if you are any kind of parent you can atleast give him a good guilt trip
