Try picture collages. Buy cheap divided frames, I found them at dollar store for $1.00. We put together pictures of our kids and they were a big hit with family members. You could do that with any theme, vacations, friends, animals, etc. good luck.

Make homde soap. Get a kit from Michael's. Everything is included for $20. Use the 40% off coupon in the paper to save more. It is pretty easy if you do basic stuff. I made LOTS for Christmas for people and those who got it already, loved it.

Yeah - several - some are sitting ont he table upstairs as we speak! LOL
Get those clear glass ornaments - at a craft store- and you can either put paint of glitter on the inside (takes days to dry though) or what I did was go to the dollar store, buy all this package filler like colored tinsel and put some of that in the balls. Blue and purple look great together, red and green, blue and silver.
Ornate ornament hangers - beaded - made a huge bunch of these with 4mm, 8mm, 10mm glass beads - they look great! http://jewelrymaking.about.com/od/beadornamentsjewelry/ss/121605.htm - very simple version.
Another version - have to scroll part way down the page - http://beadinghelpweb.blogspot.com/
More like what I did, except I spiraled the tops a lot more - https://www.scrapgoods.com/cgi-bin/fulldesc.cgi?id=283
Yeah - like these! Scroll down some - http://www.tanyasbeadncraft.com/beadproj.html
They make up very fast - I was doing about 4 in 15 minutes.
What ellse - hmmm - quick potholder made out of old jeans - use the pocket, then using cotton batting - NOT fiberfill, that melts - put a couple layers of batting ont he back side of the pocket, sew anothe piece of denim on top - tada - potholders.
found this quick gifts to make - and only one mentioned food - http://deseretnews.com/dn/view/0,1249,650212777,00.html
And another - http://familyfun.go.com/arts-and-crafts/season/specialfeature/holiday_gifts_ms/
If you crochet, these are nice - and they whip out really fast as well - http://www.angelfire.com/va3/heartfeltangels/AngelOrnament.html
Hope this list helps inspire.

My sister got these fleece blankets from one of her swim team kids. They took two pieces of thick fleece (same size - blanket/throw size) and layed them flat one on top of the other. Then with good fabric scissors they cut 1 inch strips about 3 inches into the material all the way around (both layers) then they just tied the two strips (one from each layer) together. It makes a very warm, cozy blanket and you can choose material that fits the person the gift is for - sports theme, solid colors, princesses etc.

I but together this year a little book of my favorite quotes and Bible versus'. I typed them up several on a page and cut them into about a 12 line sheets and I'm giving them to relatives (mostly teenaged girls who are of age and spreading thier wings within the next year). Last year I made "rag Angels" as well, those are easy too

Homemade ornaments are good. Pictures are good too. Find a picture that someone may have forgotten about or would be special to them. Scented pine cone or cinnamon stick arranged with a ribbon around them would be nice. Look online or look for a book with Christmas crafts. If you sew, handmade stockings are great.
