when i come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me
i want no rites in a gloom filled room
why cry for a soul set free
miss me a little but not for long, and not with your head bowed low
remember the love we once shared
miss me but let me go
for this is a journey we all must take
and each must go alone
its all a part of the master plan
a step on the road to home
when you are lonely and sick of heart
go to the friends we know
and bury your sorrows in doing good deeds
miss me but let me go

Your poem is very beautiful. It made me cry. My husband has terminal cancer, and he is not well right now, and I know that the description in your poem is very much how I will soon need to see him. I know I have to let him go.

Ann D - if you read this, could you please tell me which book of poetry this is in by Helen Steiner Rice?

And if it was plagiarized, Linz172, I think that is totally disgusting!

Really wonderful poem. Beautiful flow and terrific sentiment. I especially liked:

and bury your sorrows in doing good deeds
miss me but let me go

Your friend would be so honoured to know you had written this and I am sorry for your loss.

That was very touching. Writing is a release for you and you are very good at it. Your friend was lucky to have known you and i'm sure he knew this. You may want to consider entering this in the poetry contest on poetry.com. It's free and is an excellent way to share your writing with the world.

it relatively is a huge poem. only one element, do no longer modern that on the funeral through fact it quite is style of to descriptive in case you already know what I mean. Funeral poems are okay to grant to the family members if it describes the the way that person lived, truthfully.

want me to be honest?

It's touching! But no matter what poem you wrote to your friend, I think he/she would be pleased no matter what since you care about them greatly.
