The power supply might be bad or is there a power toggle switch on the back of it.

Check the fuse in the plug.
Check the fuse in the power supply unit.
Check the connectors for a GOOD fit.
Check the power is turned ON, at the back of the computer...lol!

1) Make sure it's all plugged in
2) Make sure the power switch on the power supply is on
3) Check for a power light on the motherboard (green LED)
4) If you have a light, it should work. If not, you are probably not all plugged in

sometimes the power unit has a switch make sure that it is on if the switch is on and power is plugged in - and its no go, then test it against a known working one - put the PSU from your newly got computer into a known working PC - if it doesn't start the pc you know what you need if your pc starts then put the PSU into the old pc and email me if the PSU is ok...I'll help with the next step in testing...

Could be bad power supply (cheap to fix) or bad motherboard (can be costly to fix). Is it an eMachine brand by chance? I've had two that had both problems. Good luck,

little buttom in the back near top on some pc. other that that check all connections. hope ya got the disk with it.
