This question has been asked a few times on this forum in many different formats.
I have more than 5 top movies of all time, but here are 5 I think do belong in the category of top movies.[In no particular order.]
>Gone With The Wind{1939)--Vivian Leigh & Clark really made this a movie you could watch over & over(as I have) & never tire of it's story & characters.
>The 10 Commandments{1956}--If there ever was a movie that belonged in the top 5 this is one.--Charelton Heston, Yul Bryner Yvonne DeCarlo & the great Vincent Price were just awesome in this epic tale.[+ a host of other great stars, far too many to list here right now.]
>The Shootist(1976)--John Wayne's last movie & I think one of his greatest with Ron Howard, Lauren Bacall & his good friend of many years Jimmy Stewart. The Duke as he was commenly known as was born on May/26/1907 & we lost this giant of a man on June./11/1979. He'll always be riding tall in the sadle for his devoted fans{of which I'm ine}around God's Golden Throne.
>E.T.(1982)--I have to include this one, as it's one of my favorite children's movie of all time. When it came out my kids were in there teens, so of course they didn't want to go to a movie with their mom & stepdad so my hubby & I gathered up a bunch of our neighbours kids & took them to see E.T. , as some of these kids had never been to a movie theatre in their lives, or out to a MacDonald's which is where we took them all for a meal after the movie. It was a joy to see the smiles on their faces & listen to the recap of the movie from their point of view.--Drew Barrymore, D.Wallace Stone & Henry Thomas were the stars of this sc-fi fanasty movie & they were great in it.
>A Few Good Men{1992}--This is one of the all time great Military movies to be done.--Tom Cruise, Demi Moore. Matt Craven[One of Canada's really good actors] & of course the indestiputable Jack Nicholson. His phrase "You Can't Handle The Truth" said to Tom Cruise at the climax of the movie is now one of the most memorable & historic lines in cinematic history.****REBELCAT:>>>>.
Yesterday I said Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to one & all.
Today I'd like to extend a Happy Hannakah, as well as happy ? whatever name each culture uses for this glorious season to one & all of you in this country[Canada] where cultural diversity is a great thing to have.
