Simply QUIT.
I know... it's so hard, I feel so bad, the cravings are killing me, I really want one after I eat, blah, blah, blah.
I was a pack-a-day guy (Marlboro reds) for 10 years. Don't listen to those pantie-waiste cry-babys who understand your pain. JUST QUIT, STOP TODAY, RIGHT NOW.
When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself that you made it through the night and you will not break. At every craving tell yourself the same thing. I WILL NOT BREAK. Before you know it a day goes by, then a week. Believe me when I say it's tough, but not THAT tough. You can do it

Just quit cold turkey. Throw the cigarettes you have left in the garbage. Get a jar, and every time you feel the urge to go out and buy cigarettes, instead put the money those cigs would have cost in that jar. By the time you're over the cravings, you should have a tidy little sum saved and you can go buy yourself something nice, or treat yourself to a nice dinner out.
Get a hobby that will consume your time and attention. And keep a pack of chewing gum for when you absolutely must put something in your mouth.
Good luck!

Drink a lot of juices and water....gets the toxins out quicker. Don't go around other people smoking. Stay away from whatever triggers you to smoke if you can...lot of stress,noice...whatever. Get a quit smoking buddy that can check on you. Chew gum or something when you HAVE to have something in your mouth...when you get nervous and think you have to smoke. PLAN for what you will do when you usually would have smoked.
Pray for God to take away the craving and then do YOUR best and He will help you. Claim this promise. "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Phil. 4:13

My grandma actually started smoking with filters..she says its disgusting, but when she has a craving its either suffer the gross taste to fullfil her craving or not have to taste something gross and feel better about it. She says 8 out of 10 times she chooses not to smoke...but shes still working on the other 20%. She has cut back atleast 50% of what she normally smokes and shes been smoking for over 50 years. Good luck

Hi I am a physician assistant and have been practicing for 7 years and also am a smoker myself. There are multiple useful items... first and foremost you must be ready yourself and committed to stop smoking for yourself, othrwise it will not work. There is anew product called chantix by prescription which is having great effects, likewise previously welbutrin also worked well.. you need to replace your habit with that of chewing gum, nicorette works great in conuntion with the above, licking lolly pops etc. Its an easy decision if you've really made up your mind and their are plenty of things on the market to help in this process to make it easier for you.
