Why do so many people make fun of people that play DDR?

I see and hear about it. I am a person who enjoys DDR.

For those who don't know, DDR is the famous dancing game created by Konami in September 1998 by Konami. Ever since, it has become more and more popular. But some people are getting made fun of, even me, for playing the game.

Why is this so?

To see some action, go to DDRFreak and look at the vids there. People are nearly worshipped!

Guitar Hero is related to DDR, but, however, it is actually based off Pop 'n Music, Guitar Freaks, and BeatMania.

People will make fun of just about everything that is different from what they do. Either they are afraid of people who are different, or they are insecure about themselves and to make themselves feel better they make fun of others.

My son is a very well-adjusted and well-rounded freshman at one of the best colleges in the country, and he brought his DDR mat (a metal, heavy-duty one...) to college. His dorm-mates are all enjoying learning/playing, and he's enjoying having it there and getting them involved. Unless you're overly-obsessed or a outspoken "advocate" for DDR...ie have other interests and activities...I can't imagine why people would make fun of this. It's great exercise, requires coordination, and is a fun activity alone or with others.

I'm not fan of DDR but I'm in love with it's close relative GUITAR HERO. Same thing only lazy. But don't think that for a minute that because I'm not a fan of DDR, I'm going to make fun of you. I've tried it, it takes skill to do this game. I'm one of them who doesn't have it. So I turned to another alternative, GUITAR HERO. It was only created just recently and I don't think that it is as popular as DDR. My best friend makes fun of me for playing it. So good luck to ya and ignore the ******* that make fun of ya. they are probably fatbastards anyway.

I agree with 305 BALLA Plus the fact im reppin 305 to but yeah who wants to dance with a video game when you can be dancing with a real person i mean DDR is like the most ridiculous game to me i've played it and it was fun but i wouldnt spend hours in the gameroom like i see other people do

I have no idea why they do that. I absolutly LOVE DDR. It is great exercise and takes alot of skill. Mabe they are just jelous because they can't do it. Don't let them get you down about anything DDR is something that you enjoy so keep doing it and if they make fun of you, just challenge them. lol

because they think its dorky. and if you think about it someone who gets that into a video game is kinda strange for me but thats just becuase i dont play video games very much but thats just me. whenever i see someone "bustin out the moves" on ddr then im amazed becuase i suck at that game so much!

do what you want to do and dont care what other people think!

thats all some people know how to do, maybe they don't know what is is. so they will make fun of it, but don't let anyone bother you, let them make the fun, the point is you like it and thats all that matters. just ignore them . eventually they will give up if they see no reaction from you.

I don't know, but I LOVE DDR. It's one of my favorite games, other than ITG. I think they're just pissed that their lazy asses can't move like that.
