They don't want to admit that Iraq was a huge mistake so they're insisting on compounding the problem by throwing good money after the bad.

I'm not a Republican and I understand it. The current number of US troops in Iraq is NOT enough to secure the country and stop the people who are killing them, secure the borders against people who are anti-American or now view Iraq as and easy target, or secure our ammo dumps . During WWI/WWII the British ran into the same problem. In order for this to stop--realistically--we need to go big or go home. While I may prefer that we go home, that may also not be a realistic possibility, since we've already set our feet on the path and taken away the Iraqi leadership (for good or for ill). We now have a responsibility to clean up and finish what we started.
Study a little history some time.

I can visualize you wringing your hands and pacing the floor thinking Bush is spending money on a war that I can't see and I can only rely on what the media tells me about this war and they say it's already lost and Bush is an idiot wahww ! that money could be spent on me and poor people here!! Well my friend if we don't win the war on terror you won't have to worry about how money is spent! What price do you put on freedom of the individual to have a life without terrorists breathing down your neck trying to kill you and me just because we exist? I hate war as much as anyone else but they started this crap and it is our responsibility to the free world to keep it free. Something are just worth it and I for one am glad bush sees that. Have faith that we will defeat our enemy. One that we didn't provoke or start anything with, other then being alive.

I don't understand how you think not funding the troops can be justified.
It's clear we are not leaving, so how can someone even consider NOT taking care of the troops we having fighting this war?

How do you expect a President who never served in the military, in a real way to understand the complex issues. I agree that we need to finish what we started but for god sakes..Spend our money at HOME to benefit AMERICANS.. CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT WE COULD HAVE DONE DOMESTICALLY WITH $380 BILLION DOLLARS.. ARE THEY F*IN CRAZY? GIVE THE IRAQI GOVT A DEADLINE THAT THEY NEED TO BE READY TO TAKE OVER AND STICK TO IT. IF THEY FALL F THEM.

You have a choice. Leave and the terrorists nuke us. Or we finish the job. We didn't ask for "9-11". We will get more if we leave them alone. As far as the troops. They are still volunteering, the military is growing thanks to the proud men and women serving

THE REASON HE IS SENDING MORE TROOOPS TO WAR IS BECUASE OF THE DEMOCRATS, once they won the congress becuase people in america r big idiots since clinton took over we were forced to do something else with the war becuase we want a republican president other than mccain and guiliani in office, if republicans won we would be doing the same steps but the only change would be rumsfeld, plus war isnt cheap and democrats want to raise taxes I LOVE GWB

We gotta have it - how will we get richer without it?
We're afraid that the Dems will start giving it away to all those nasty poor people. Long live Haliburton!
