It was never about oil. We attacked Iraq so we could put in a puppet government that would be our point guard in the middle-east (just like when we had the Shaw of Iran in our pocket back in the good ole days). This way we could build some bases there so we could have a permanent presence in the middle east to help frighten Iraq and Syria. The fact that Saddam tried to have Bush Sr. eradicated was just enough icing on the cake to make Bush Jr. decide to attack.

We aren't taking any oil because of terrorist/insurgents attacks and the Iraqi oil infrastucture is so old it barely works. And the only way the US would get "free oil" from Iraq is if they took over Iraq and as we all know the US military can't even keep the peace in Iraq so there will never be any free oil.

We are not in Iraq for oil!!! Didn't you pay attention to current President Bush's statements early on the his conviction speeches justifying why we are there? Many listened to all the hype he throws around but in one interview he gave, at the end of a statement he said "and they tried to assassinate my Daddy!" If you think this has not happened then I would steer you to the website usatrivia.com concerning Presidential Assassination Attempts. It states the following:
GEORGE BUSH
President Clinton ordered an aerial strike of selected targets in Iraq after learning of a plot by Saddam Hussein to kill his predecessor, George Bush.
The current president is just in it for revenge!

A pipeline that the militants keep blowing up. Tanker trucks. They refine some of it in Baghdad, ship it all down to Basra, load it onto ships and export it. I don't have specific numbers on the quantity that's being taken or the dollars that the U.S. is saving by helping the Iraqis run the operations, but I can assure you that our savings is significant.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi people can't get gas at their own gas stations.
That's what happens when you elect crooked oilmen and criminals into the White House. THAT'S WHAT YOU GET, AMERICA. START PAYING ATTENTION AND STOP CUTTING THIS GUY SLACK!!!
By the way, there's a RESPONSE for you.
