Did a message like this ever come up right when you were in the middle of playing a gc game for a few hours I was like "What the......" This made me have to repeat something in Zelda TP its really annoying and it doesn't happen often but is there any safe way i can fix this myself without calling up customer support or damaging my cube.
Any advice would help. Thanks.

I've had this happen to me a lot with certain games on my Cube. If you don't feel like calling customer service, try checking the air vents on the side of your system. Sometimes if it's blocked or doesn't get enough air in or out, that can make the system malfunction. The manuals usually say don't touch the laser lens. But, if there is a little spec on there that you can see, very very gently wipe it off. You don't want to damage the very thing that makes Zelda TP possible. Speaking of that, make sure that the disc is clean and doesn't have any cracks or smudges on it.

Hope that helps you out somehow.

This has happened to me a couple of times. The way you deal with it depends on the message.

If the message says "The game disc could not be read", you can probably sort it out by opening the gamecube, giving both the lens and the disc a wipe with a dry cloth, putting the disc back where it was and then closing the lid. The gamecube will try to read the disc again and it should hopefully work.

If the message says "An error has occured", I'm afraid you'll have to turn off your Gamecube. This sadly causes you to lose any unsaved data.
