I personally don't like the name, and I think that if I were a child I would not want that name. But, you should name your child that if you like and not let anyone discourage you. Your friend probably appreciated your help, but I doubt she takes your advice. Different people like different things, but I don't see Putana in the top 10 girl names for 2006. If you like it use it for your own child and don't listen to what anyone else has to say though.

That's not a good name. I don't like it. Sorry. How about Linda? Or Helen? My two all time favorite names and they aren't currently being overused. These are two great old names that everybody already knows how to spell, and how to pronounce. The best perk about one of these names is that this little girl will probably be the only girl in her first grade classroom with this name.
