my teacher in trig told us a problem that is on the SAT. the question is a diagram. its 4 people that are trying to cross the bride to the other side of the clift its at night so they have a flash light but they cant see the bridge but the bride can only support 2 people at a time so two people have to go and one othem comes back with the flashlight . they are 4 people one is 10 minutes, 5 min, 2 min, 1min
the time has to take 17 min and when the person goes back with the flashlight you add one min.and when you send two people over to the other side you have to add the minutes of the highest one so if you sent the 10 and the 5 you would only add the 10 min one so please help me with this and no you cant push one off the clift or give one a piggy back ride

My advice is to drop trig and sign up for 4th grade spelling, learn to use punctuation and / or take a typing class!
Why are they trying to cross a bride and does her husband know about this? And just what is a "clift"? Don't worry about the math section of the SAT, you're gonna fail the English!
The shortest total time that it will take according to the garbled problem description appears to be 19 minutes.

Ok, so A takes 10 minutes to cross
B takes 5 minutes
C takes 2 minutes
D takes 1 minute.
Most people would give you this answer:
A and D cross (10 minutes)
D comes back (1 minute)
B and D cross (5 minutes)
D comes back (1 minute)
C and D cross (2 minutes)
Total 19 minutes.
But there is a faster way. If A is so slow, you might as well get him to cross with the next slowest person.
C and D cross (2 minutes)
D comes back (1 minute)
A and B cross (10 minutes)
C comes back (2 minutes)
C and D cross (2 minutes)
Total 17 minutes.

1 and 2 min go fist. then 1 min return, 5 and 10 mins go to ther other side, then 2 mins takes the flashlight back, then ....
