hello,
i was wondering because i have never had a contract phone. You can get the lg chocolate for 99 dollars with a new 2 year agreement. Then there is a plan for 450 minutes for 40 dollars a month. Now i want to know can i just buy the phone straight out and then get the 40 dollar a month plan and pay for it like that and then if i want to cancel i can do that anytime

i would think you would have to sign a contract...that is how they make their money. for example...let's say you get your phone outright and just want to pay the monthly fee...and not sign a contract. but 4 months later you decide you don't want to use a cellphone anymore. they would be losing that monthly fee from you and they aren't about to let that happen. but the only way to find out for sure is to call verizon and ask. btw..i've heard the chocolate SUCKS...i have the lg vx9800 and it's awesome
