When I was 14 years old my Mom talked my Dad into buying an acoustic guitar for me.

I had a few paper routes to do, but before I left that morning, I checked out what was by the Christmas tree. Only small packages of toys and clothing.

So I left as usual at 5 am(it once was safe for kids to do this kind of work) and finished by 8 am and went home. When I got home my parents where acting strange and told me to sit in the front of the tree and open my gifts, and I did. Sure enough the same stuff as last year toys, t-shirts, underwear and socks.

Then when I was asked if there was anything left, I said, "no".
They told me to open the curtain in the corner. There, in the corner, behind the curtain, behind the tree, was an odd shaped package.

I opened up a box, that contained a Magnum(cheap) acoustic guitar. There was a guitar strap and a how to play guitar book as well.

I still have that badly beaten and abused guitar(some how it survived my teenage years), and it plays surprisingly well and has a great sound to it even after all these years. It is still fun to play Christmas songs on it.

May you have laughter and love on the birthday of the king, Jesus.
Merry Christmas

My dad loved to take pictures and he would have made a great photographer if he had decided to persue that as a career. I was always wanting to take pictures ever since I could remember.

When I was 6 years old my dad gave me a camera of my own for Christmas. It was a little Brownie camera. I went camera happy and took pictures of everything! I took it everywhere that we went and went snap happy all the time! I still have it, but it is put up now.

No gift since has ever meant so much too me.

I still have the scrapbook I made that has my first pictures that I took and many since then.

actually, no material gifts could equal to the emotions or feelings u have when u are with your family and friends. or when they give u some things. sure, they gave u gifts, but what really matters is the thought. the fact that they remembered me means so much to me. it's not how big or small, or if the gift's expensive or cheap.

It was a porcelain doll of a little girl on her knees praying, from my younger brother for Christmas. It was the last thing I ever received from him before he died 4 months later.

Believe it or not, an apparatus referred to as a "**** plug". I didn't know whether to cry or laugh. Turns out though, this guy knew what he was doing! But, I mean, staring at it in the box gave me both the creeps and curiosity. Good thing I'm open minded. hehe
