Good grades, above average, extra curicular activities, volunteering or spending time doing things that have to do with your goals, having letters of reference from teachers and friends or anyone of importance in business or government or of social standing. Anything positive that lets them know you are going to suceed and do well, that they aren't wasting time and space on you but are getting a great student that they will be proud to have. Good luck.

Depends how good of a college. You need to have joined good clubs and activites. Try working in soup kitches and joining Operation Smile or something like that. Score well on the SAT's and w/e other standarized test and try to get a GPA of at least 3.5

Ideal to have SAT or ACT scores in the right "range" for the college, as well. Upper half better.
