In a recent news article, President Bush made the following remarks concerning the escalation the numbers of troops to be sent in the Iraq War:

["Bush was unwavering about U.S. goals for Iraq.

"Victory in Iraq is achievable," he said. "It hadn't happened nearly as quickly as I hoped it would have. ...

"But I also don't believe most Americans want us just to get out now," the president said. "A lot of Americans understand the consequences of defeat. Retreat would embolden radicals. It would hurt the credibility of the United States." ]

Yeah this war is unlike any other we have had to fight. I trust our president's judgement and wish the country would rally around him on this it's hard to fight this type of enemy and all the factors concerning the different tribes that make up Iraq. Defeat, cut and run would be a desaster. at this point. Believe me I hate it I have relatives in the service and I applaud their choice to fight for the free world and against terrorism. But I also worry about thier saftey damn I hate war!! Yet it is one we must win if not for us then for future generations.

I dont like the war, i was against it at first and still am. But we broke it, now we have to fix it. Regardless the cost....America is stuck in Iraq until they fight it out amongst us and themselves. Sadly i dont see anyone coming up with any solutions to save Iraq and turn it into the "democracy" America dreamed it would become. The only thing we keep hearing are catch phrases like Stay The Course and New Way Foward. Those arent war strategies or gameplans, those are just catch prhases to motivate the people who still believe in the war.

I want them out as soon as the insurgentcy is defeated. If we leave early like in the Russian-Afghan War, then Iraq will turn into another Afghanistan and will be worse than it is now.

The Pres is right.

If we just leave now, then they see America as defeatable.

Then they'll come HERE and try and take it.

And thanks to our lack of border enforcement, it won't be hard to smuggle ANYTHING in.
