I'm doing the bulk of the food shopping today but ONLY for the items that are not perishable, so everything apart from meat and vegetables which I've pre ordered from the local butchers and greengrocers which I've arranged to pick up on Xmas eve. Most local shops will be able to help with this and it saves a lot of the grief and stress of fighting people for over the sprouts in a supermarket. Happy Xmas

This year I am doing buffet dishes for 15 or 20 people on Christmas Eve from nine different countries. They are: France, Thailand, India, Vietnam, Japan, China, Italy, Portugal and Russia. I am cooking all of it all by myself so I decided to shop early. I went today LOL. Did you ever go to an Asian market and try to "act out" the words for a spice like garam masala to a clerk who did not speak a lick of English? It's a real treat!!
Anyhoo...Have a great Holiday funny guy! (who is also.....what were those other adjectives I was supposed to use????)

Sos, so we meet again. My sis in law is doing the cooking, but I have elected to help with some of the purchasing. So, tomorrow I get to go to the best priced greengrocer department and buy veges. I have also bought ready-made Christmas cakes and a few other items.
By doing it in pieces, that is my way of combating sheer agony of last minute, sometimes expensive rush. The same way I buy prezzies.
Once again, Sos, have a marvelous Christmas, in spite of feeling a bit knackered. I think we all do at times.
[Love, cheers, and hugs to all the wickedly festive people around the world--

I've got most of the choccy stuff in and wine, and all that's left to get is some beer and spirits. I will probably end up dashing to sainsburys/asda or tesco (whichever looks the least busy) for that on x-mas eve

I have not even started food shopping, but the longer you leave it the less you tend to buy in, because the shops are open in 2 days again.
