For many people, when they are given a scenario They can give the best plan of action with eaze. But when they find themself in the real situaton, they tend to stumble.

For instance, a person could be asked what they would do if someone told a lie about them to a large crowd of people. They might say that they would be calm and tell everyone that it was a lie and maybe give some points why it's false. But a few days later when they step into work and the entire office has been told that they are in fact gay, they might scream out in their defence and act completly irrational.

It has been said that this is because when people are just given a scenario they are clear-minded as they are not caught up in the problem emotionally, but when they are in the situation they are emotionally attached and blinded by what they feel.

What are your thoughts on this?

well, it's hard 2 say because every1 reacts to problems differently. i agree with ur explanation, and consider this. Maby, when just given a scenario, the person knows that u r just asking a question and trying to determine how they come to that conclusion. Well, if this really happened the person walking into the office would not b in the same position. It would feel 2 him that his co-workers were accusing him of being gay. U react differently when the tone of the accusation changes. That's my thought.

It is said that experience is the best teacher. I can think things out logically when it is only logic I am working with. Logic that needs derivation immediately from reality as it is happening demands of a person unwavering, unwaining sensuous ability, attention and retention. When a persons own interests are envolved, yes, that may make a grand difference in performance for action.

I think that being put in the limelight makes the difference in attitude as oppose to being told of it over the phone or by a second party. The defensive mode takes place when you're put on the spot...

I agree with what your saying. You have to be a real master not to get emotional about things that are a lie that people might not know or do know it is a lie.

well if they react irrationally i would say that person was gay. because come on, if you werent, you wouldnt give a darn in any way, you would be like ha ha thats funny, who told you that. but if you try to defend yourself and try and prove it withoutbeing asked then you are mostlikey gay in one way or another. even if you think your not, you are deep down, but hey its nature that makes us this way, our lives cannot be controlled but only lived, just like a tree. and if that tree stands out from the rest i would like to be that tree.

when something is close to you it's difficult to remain cool and calm.when you're not involved then it's easier to step back chill and take stock of the situation.
that's why i admire people that can stay cool under pressure and step back.
it's easier to say somethhing then to do something , that's why they say action speaks louder than words.
God bless,
gabe

They don't really know themselves or they say what they think will make them look best in answer to the question.
