It's supposed to be about the birth of Jesus. People made it about shopping when they started giving each other gifts in his honor.

Corporations trying to make $$$$$$$ off holidays that's all. Doesn't mean you have to follow it though

about the exchangement of gifts.... maybe trying to make someone happy with something bought....presents? :)
