A kitchen cabinet fell off but not at the hinges. There is still a bit of wood with a space in the middle for the rest of the cabinet to fit into.
What has to be done to fix this and who do I hire to fix this?
Any idea of the cost ?

I am sorry for not making myself clear. It is the cabinet DOOR, not the cabinet itself.
Thanks

Dear Cammie:

Look in your local paper for a handyman explain to him what needs to be done and ask what his estimate would be for the job. Remember that in some states like California a handyman without a contractors license can not contract any work (material & labor) over $400.00. Also, always have someone with you should you choose to invite a handyman over to access the problem.

Happy Holidays!

carpenter or handy man...either one if they realize that the support has to be safe. Cabinets really need to be supported by studs, not sheetrock. Perhaps the fastenning screws were not long enough or did not make good contact with a stud or perhaps the screw heads came off. The fix depends on getting out the old fastenners and tying in the new fastenners to studs adequately to keep them from coming loose. How much weight did you have in there?

you just need to replace the cabinet door...go to lowes or home depot and buy a new one...you can probably judge by seeing the old setup whqt you need to do...Porbably only requires a screw driver

Good luck
