Before OC anything i would recommend you to visit all the OC sites to get some ideas. OC can help your pc run faster but do it wrong you can fry your pc. You also must remember that OC will void your warranty and may shorten the life of your hardware. The easiest OC technique is to OC the CPU and Video card. I won't tell you how because it's going to take too long to explain but you can find out how by doing some research on the net.

It depends on if your computer is a prebuilt one or custom made. I am not sure, but I know some companies won't let you overclock. And if you use your computer for general use, overclocking really isn't gonna make it appear much faster. It is mainly for people who want to increase the frame rate a little more in games, or gain a better score in 3dmark (a test that tells you how good your computer is)

crysis isnt too hard to run at max settings nowadays crysis 2 is going to be the thing that is hard to run at such settings. but medium you say hmm ok. as games go they basically need a processor to begin with, the processor requirments do not change with graphics settings. the processor does not have anything to do with the graphics its running executions for the story line the physics (not physx though) etc. so i would say look at a athlon 2 x2 core you can get one for about £50 next MoBo you want one with a am3 socket and a pci e slot apart from that take your pick. depending on whether your chosen mobo takes ddr2 or 3 ram just get 4 giggys of 800mhz ddr2 or 1333mhz ddr3 graphics card. look at the 5670 hd as a minimum graphics card really. you can drop down to the 4770 if you really are willing to give up some of that graphic detail the 5670 will just last you longer since it has directx 11 etc etc. power supply look at 500watts. dvd drive midi tower case minimum windows 7 64 bit (must get 64 bit)
