I think the general lack of stand-out QBs in the league ensure him a spot. If Donavan was healthy the whole year he'd mos-def be going, but he's probably just bump Romo to 3rd. Team sucess generally means your QB is pro-bowl bound (unless you're riding your D like the Bears and Ravens). Bulger, Hasslebeck, and Delholmme are the only other real options and Bulger edged in, probably only because the others were/injured (and just weren't on the level they were last year).

The NFC is weak at QB right now with so many guys either being injured or having off seasons. I think Romo is legit though just for turning the Cowboys season around and setting them up with a shot at the division and the playoffs. He may be inexperienced and need to develop further but he is helping his team win now which can not be said for a lot of NFC qbs.

I'm right there w/you. He's done well so far but lets see what happens in the play-offs. I think (hope) they'll win the SB but Romo's gonna be the one that will have to lead 'em there. If that happens and he has a great next year, then he should go. I think the only reason he's going this year is all the other QB's in the NFC are having bad years.

It just goes to show that the Pro Bowl is a popularity contest where the size of your team's market and amount of media hype you get matter more than your skill or play. Not knocking Romo in particular, he's good...but but not All-Pro...at least not yet...

An average Romo is Pro Bowl simply because the other supposed top QBs in the NFC had off years (i.e Vick, Favre, McNabb, Eli Manning, Hasselbeck, etc.). Who else were they going to put in?

I think to be considered for the Pro Bowl you have to prove yourself for at least more than half the season. Romo hasn't played enough to be considered for it in my opinion.
