I have to read a book by Feb. 16th, and an optional one that will raise my grade by a lot, due Jan. 19. I was wondering which of the following books are the shortest (besides The Little Prince, I'll be reading that one for the Feb. 16th book report): http://img82.imageshack.us/img82/4418/bookreportbooksqx7.png

For the book report we have to put the setting, main characters, plot, etc. Things like that.

I'm not sure the length of any of these but do seem to remember that The Red Badge of Courage was fairly short and was a quick read (about a young soldier in the American Civil War); Winesburg, Ohio might be a good one, too, because it is a compilation book of short stories that are all inter-related; The Count of MonteCristo is a great book -- it would probably hold your interest more than some of the others!
Cliff's Notes are basically book summaries. They give the basic details of classic books, like the ones on your list, and give you questions to help you think more about what you read. Some people use them instead of reading the book . . . I don't recommend this at all. Alot of teachers are onto this and tailor their tests, etc., to ask questions that aren't answered in Cliffs Notes. BUT, using them IN ADDITION to reading the book was always very helpful to me, both in high school and college. If you use them the way they are intended, they can help you understand and/or see things in the story that you may not have been able to pick up on your own.
Good luck and get to reading!!

Well, it really matters what kind of books you are into. A book with a storyline that you enjoy may be 20 pages longer than another one, but you will finish it faster (and have a good time with the book report) if you aren't bored out of your mind.
Look up some of the books on amazon.com and read the reviews. Actually, if you still only want the page numbers, amazon.com also lists the number of pages in the books. But more importantly, it gives a short summary of the book. Good luck finding a book!

Read the Count of Monte Cristo you can watch the movie and they make cliff notes for it.
If you are a real cheater you could truck on down to the childrens section and see if they have the Young readers edition of some of those books. But you aren't that lazy...are you.

Weinsburg, Ohio Red Badge of Courage, and Last of the Mohicans are all relatively short. Those three are fairly quick reads...you could easily finish each one in a weekend. And they are all really powerful, wonderful novels. I have read almost everything on your list, except for two or three- and the three I listed above are (in my opinion) the best, easiest, and quickest to read. Good Luck!

I checked your list and the good news is that many of the books on the list have been made into movies or have Cliff notes for them.

I checked out the list and I would say Murder on Orient express, it should be a quick read by Agatha Cristy. And, what happens is more or less in the title.

I think both Call of the Wild and White Fang aren't too terribly long...and they're more interesting than some of your other choices. go with Call of the Wild.
