Hello! Not sure I'll have time to work on this but at least wanted to say hi =) edit Proving that 126 is correct reduces to 4cos^2 18 = 4cos^2 36 + 1 which is true. The first point is to notice that if 1 the length of the sides, then FC = 2 cos 18. To see this just take the symmetric of B with respect to AC. Call G that point then BFG is equilateral and then all angles can be worked out. in particular CGF is isoscels in G with angles 18 18 144. Now since angles in CED are 108 36 36, in order to check that 126 = 90 + 36 works, you just need to show that CEF is a right triangle at E. This follows from 4cos^2 18 = 4cos^2 36 + 1 that is CF^2 = CE^2 + FE^2.

To help you remember, a witch puts a hex on you. 666 is the universal bad number. Hexagons have 6 sides. Octagons (stop signs) have 8 sides.

Hexagons = six sides.
And to the poster that said, "think of a stop sign"....
Stop signs are octagons. (Eight sided).
