Yes, I would consider them ignorant because latino is an ethnicity and not a race. In fact, some hispanics and latinos are white. Most hispanics are american indian or mestizo and they may or may not mix well with whites.

There's something everyone seems to overlook: 'LATINO' DOES NOT REFER TO A RACE...It describes the place of origin of an individual.

Latin Americans can be either:

- Caucassian
- Mestizo (Caucassian / Amerindian mix)
- Mulato (Caucassian / ******* mix)
- Zambo (******* / Amerindian mix)
- And more....

Take me: I'm 3/4 Spanish (from Spain, that is Caucassian) and 1/4 Jewish (also, Caucassian)...but I'm Latino...

As to the expression. I think "hateful" and "mean" are better words to discribe it, than "ignorant".

Why "ignorant"? Are you suggesting these people DON'T KNOW that we are all HUMAN BEINGS??? Sorry. But I could have bought this hundreds of years ago, where there was very little knowledge of other human groups/exchange... But in today's world???? PLEASE!

It's time we start taking racist people for what they really are: HATEFUL AND MEAN...

ok during the fall of the roman empire a tribe in china pushed the tribe next to them west. They then pushed until all of eurasia moved one country west. Humans have been migrating for 100,000 years We are all Human.
The entire idea of race is fundementally ridiculous. We are human. I am human you are human. We either think in terms of one race and survive as brothers or we can divide ourselves and die.

Yes, very ignorant. It's too bad the person had a negative experience with whites, but all of us have had negative experiences with different races now and then.

To be fair, though, we all have had bad experiences with our own race also! Welcome to the human race!

totally ignorant, don't let them get to you. you don't have to be insulted because of 1 persons negative experience with 1 white person.

Judging people by their race, religion or national origin is just plain stupid. People should be judged as individuals.

I would suggest you avoid hanging around in the company of such racist people if such abuse continues.

"Latino and white don't mix"....
Very interesting phrase.
I'm white and latino, maybe I'm somekind of gas, or my body is separated in two.
