I've worked at the polls for 3 year. The people paid by the board of elections were called Precinct Election Officials or Judges. 'Electors' refers the the voters. 'Mediators' and 'Supervisors' were never mentioned in training. 'Challengers' and 'Witnesses' were mentioned, but neither have the authority to do anything but watch in my county. That said, given your options, I would guess C)Challengers comes closest.

I believe its A: electors the oversee the voters coming to vote making sure they are who they say they are.
