the most populars are Hulk Hogan, Undertaker, The Rock, Mick Foley, Steve Austin, Superfly Jimmy Snuka (back in the day), and basically most of the other WWE champions that are faces bacause WWE gives the title to the most popular faces usually or anyone they think can carry WWE for awhile, or the heels that get the most heat eventually go on to compete for the title

hulk hogan is definitely on that list but his inability to actual wrestle is the reason i would say he is not, Ric flair has the charisma, loyalty and the wrestling ability but lacks originality when it comes to doing new things but he is definitely close, sting could be if he would had a longer run and better mic skills, macho man is not even close to that category he has no respect to the business and fans can notice that, so i would say stone cold Steve Austin he can wrestle, charisma loyalty to the business awesome mic skills and probably has more memorable moments then the other wrestlers by far so stone cold Steve Austin is

Hogan took the popularity of wrestling to an entirely new level, but Flair gave it the credibilty it deserved.
Hogan couldn't work 60 minutes if you gave him 3 nights to do it. Flair could go 60 minutes with a traffic pylon, and put it over.

I don't know wrestling at all, but I know Hulk Hogan, so I'd have to say that he's the most well-known if someone like me knows his name.
