most repuatble doctors wont because of the amount of people who change their minds after taht age. If you are unable to find one you may want to consider getting and IUD in untill you reach an age where tehy will stop giving you grief. they are almost as effective and require no maitnence

If this is what u really want then u should go on birth control right away and wait til u turn old enough to get them tied. You are to young right now and you have no children so i doubt very much that you will find a Dr. to do this. But i think the legal age is 24 well it is where i live. I got my tubes tied at 26 i have 3 beautiful children and alot of medical problems that is the only reason i got mines done if i didnt have all these problems i would have more children just got to sick with my last child never want to go through that again. So keep asking around but im pretty sure you have to wait til ur like 24 or so. Good luck.

You probably won't. Just like all the other answers.. not trying to change your mind, but they look at it like you are young.. 3 years from now you could meet the man of your dreams, love him sooo much and want to have a baby. Now if you have some genetic issues there or something, you might be able to find someone.. Plus, when I was done having kids, I wanted my doctor to tie my tubes, and she told me that there is no proof to fact, but statistics show that a lot of women who have their tubes tied, end up with a hysterectomy within 15 years after.. unnecessary surgery. There are a lot of options out there.. good luck..

Most of the above post seem right. Most doctors won't do this because of the fact you are young and you might change your mind. They feel more comfortable doing this to women who have had children or perhaps who are older. It's your own decision and no one could make it for you. Perhaps you should talk to your OBGYN about your concerns and reasons, maybe you have a really good reason for this and you don't want to share or whatnot. If your OBGYN agrees that this is necessary they will refer you to a respectable doctor to do this or a place that can help you. Speaking to your OBGYN can ensure you the best decision you two can make together about this. Good Luck.

Will not try to change your mind, most 22 year olds do not want children. There are lots of birth control methods out there-is there another reason you would choose medical sterilization over these? Perhaps you should take a good look at alternative birth control methods. If your decision is based on emotions rather than what is practical you should wait a while.

before you have it done they will ask you a lot of questions because you are so young. Any doctor should be able to do it for you. My dear make very sure you want this. It will not stop your period only make you not get pregnant. If you decide later on to have kids the process is horrible and does not always work. THINK IT OUT>

Without trying to convince you otherwise...the FACTS are...most doctors won't do that surgery on someone as young as yourself. It isn't just the doctors in your area. Why not just get a depro shot or something until you can get them tied?

A good doctor will not do this procedure unless medically necessary.
I did it at 22 and regret it! I am remarried to the love of my life and cannot give him children.....
please re-think..
Good luck and take care

well not trying to convince you because you do sound like you have made up your mind....but things do change in life...many times out of your control and you may...mind you..may..change your mind sometime in the future..hence why most doctors wont sterilize young women at your age....practice safe sex, have good and reliable birth control that you control..and in a few more years revisit this..by your late 20s I would think most doctors would be approachable...

Simply put, doctors won't do it until you've had children, or there is some pressing medical reason that you can't have children .
