For a 5 year old girl, you could get her many different things for Christmas.
First, you could get her a stuffed animals, many kids all have stuffed animals that they are very attached to so this is a good age to give a stuffed animal if she does not have one. Second, you could get her a barbie. Most girls have all had a barbie in their life and barbies are very popular. Last, you could get her a cabbage patch kid. Not only is it a doll like a barbie, but it is also a soft, stuffed animal like toy.

I have a five year old daughter. I ended up getting her the Disney Princess DVD game. I guess the thing is to find out what they are into and get them something that has to do with that. I think the big thing right now is either Barbie or The Disney Princesses.

I bought my great niece, who is also 5, a Bratz velvet doodle door knocker, Dora the Explorer backpack and a set of pink thermal bed sheets. I'm going to tell her that every night she sleeps in her cosy bed she is to think of her Auntie giving her a big hug.
She also mentioned she wanted Polly Pocket, but someone else in the family is getting her that.
Hope this is of some help.

The movie cars is big now among kids. Probably anyting to do with that movie she'll love.
You could also buy her something to make jewelary with.
Or one of those crayon melter things. You put pieces of old broken crayon in it and it melts the pieces together.
Stuffed animals are aways a good choice too.

My Niece is the same age and I, with my wife's help, got her a dress up kit. Find a few dresses, a couple of dress shoes and some fake jewelry. I got some things like that for my niece on her birthday last month. She really liked all of it. Just guess on size, not to small.
