Honestly, no it can't. If its love then its going to bring you some kind of pain. When you open your heart and allow it to feel then its going to feel all things. When you love someone you care for them and when they're gone and you don't know where, what happens? You worry. When something goes wrong either they leave you emotionally and mentally- your in pain and if they are called home and leave you physically because God wants them back, what happens? You cry, you want to die and you bargain with God and plead why? Your in pain.
If they leave you for another person what happens... Pride and that does what? Gives you pain... Its life my friend, its life- with love comes pain and with pain comes growth! Love hard because either way, pain is pain and love is love... So love like you've never loved before!
I would say don't love so hard and then if life takes its turns you won't feel its pains too hard but truth is... love is love and pain is pain, either way. Some people think that the deepest love can hurt you more but I know that even the tiniest bit of... I care can hurt you too, especially when you care enough.

Have children, then you'll understand. Part of love is sacrifice as well as discipline, and doing what is best for the other person some days.
Part of love is hurting the other person because people are innately selfish; and thus they will hurt you too, even though they love you. Doesn't mean they don't. Such is life.
Love is a bittersweet thing, multiple truths at the same time. I actually think this is one of the truly fantastic things about life. Sometimes because something was so very painful at one point, it makes it so much better later, so much more meaningful. You (well, now I'm just talking about me ;) have learned to appreciate things more, have developed some wisdom and depth, hopefully, some insight..... life, fate, love become fleshed-out things.....
Pain is not the end of the world.... is what I think.

No a bit of pain is what make love worth fighting for. When you can get through the pain, it makes love more meaningful and can really open your eyes to what really matters.
