we had a party today and exchanged gifts.. but was told not to open til christmas, i opened mine when i got home.. it was a santa hat.. and i gave her a 25$ bottle of perfume...how can i smile in her face tomorrow at work when all i got was a 1$ santa hat.. yes she had money and it was her idea that the gifts where to be no less than 20$ ..guess i should have waited til christmas..lol......would you say something or just wear the damn hat to work so she knows you know.

That sucks, I would just politely ask her, "So, did you go to the North Pole to get this or do you owe me $19?"

I would be gracious in spite of it. There is not need to cause strife in the relationship over a material gift. You have to work with this person and it's simply not worth it to get all upset over material things. Who knows what she was thinking. Maybe it was a misunderstanding on her part and she probably feels bad enough that her gift to you wasn't nearly as nice as yours to her. Just let it go and thank her.

We exchanged gifts at my work today. ANd we opened them up in front of each other so everybody would know and share in the fun...Everybody got really cool stuff......

Sound kinda grounchy and greedy, don'tcha? I mean, c'mon, Christmas isn't about gettin'...it's about GIVING! And remember, if everything was tit for tat, we'd all have a one-way ticket to the same place that Satan has a ticket to...wouldn't that be a treat =C!
