From LA on Philippines Air Lines. as long as the plane is not full about 15 1/2 hours, if it is full then you will stop over in Guam and that brings it up to 16 hours.
But the flight here is not bad. you leave LA at 10pm and get dinner once in the air....go to sleep for 10 hours wake up get breakfast then you land a day after you take off but it is morning so no jet lag.
the trip back is unbearable... I left Cebu to Manila at 9pm then left Manila to LA at 10:30pm all on October 6th....16 hours latter we arrive in LA but when we land it is still October 6th but it is only 9pm an hour before take off...mind you you slept most of the night just to arrive at bed time...then during the flight you cannot open the window shade since an hour after take off the sun rises and then sets an hour before you land....so October 6th was almost 36 hours long for me and there were two sunrises and two sunsets

Always consider the source of your information. One way to track how other YA member post is a quick Internet search by way of Yahoo or Google search engine. I am an American, married to a Filipina and have lived in the Philippines a total of ten years, spanning a 28 year period. I have made over twenty trips to the Philippines since 1980 and own a home in Ermita Manila. My wife and I now live in both the USA and Ermita Manila equalky. I am in agreement with Hot Chick. It is obvious others who have generalized are farther from the truth than they can imagine. I have been associating with the Filipino community in the Philippines since 1980, and also the Fil/Am community in the states my who adult life. In most cases the Filipino mom and pop are content in their home country. Just bceause you marry a Filipina, does not mean she wants to bring the who family+nanny to the states. Sure there may be some, but not all. Like any where else in the world; there are certain hot topic issues that needs to be discussed and mutual understanding be established before a life time commintment is made. This especially holds true for the Filipino family because the culture in the Philippines is "family focused" . "Mag Anak" is a primarily a Fil/Am focused Yahoo support newsgroup that focuses on the Fil/Am relationship, Immigration issues and related subject matter. There are many finE members who have a long history with the Philippines, its people, culture and way of life. I suggest you join this group and learn from the collective thoughts and experiences of other Americans who do not generalize. See links below. BTW: My Filipina wife's parents have NO desire to go to the states. Send me an e-mail if have any questions

If you go direct from Los Angeles or San Francisco to Manila on Philippine Ailrines, it will only take you 13 hours (w/ stop-over) in Guam. But sometimes, the flight goes direct to Manila so it's just 12 hours.

About 12 to 20 hours depending on the route of air you choose. You didn't mention the point from where you want to depart because America is a vast continent having a very long distance from Atlantic coast to Pacific coast.

It seems like forever. From SFO, 24 hours first time through Taipei and Manila, maybe 20 the second time through Hong Kong. Totally not worth the effort for me to return unless I had some compelling reason, such as that I was going somewhere else in addition, like Japan, China, or Vietnam.

Depends where your flying out of. I fly out of Florida and it takes about 16 hours total. But if I include ground time then it would be about 18 hours total.
