Arrogant self-opinionated journalists espousing their beliefs is NOT the reason most of us buy newspapers. I dont want their views, just the NEWS!

But despite your fears, the press is not self destructing. It is still selling you the news....

The press has always been a political tool, every bit of information you rea, hear or watch is subjective, subject to the editorial control - in that an image may be cropped, a film cut short or arranged in a certain manner....

The only way to escape from manuplation is to not buy the news, but you have to persuade a few million others to help you, then the media would adapt to sell you what you want. don't moan here, vote with your feet.

Well, you're apparently in a very tiny minority because a large portion of the population still wants their news. I hate it when ignorant yahoos make blanket assumptions about "the media" or "the press." There are myriad shades of credibility and honesty amid this valuable resource. It takes a little digging but finding reliable news sources is not hard.

Well that is unfortunately not much of an option nowadays you should try researching topics on-line that you hear about and read them with a wary eye you know between the lines 90% is BS and half truth so be careful out there.

You should go to eNews Reference; all the worlds news without the AP and Reuters if you want.
