How should I start a band?

I play the cello and I want to start a band with some other insament, but my mom won't let one of my friends over! What should I do?

The first thing you need to do is get rid of the hurdle between you and your Mom!! Although, we don't know the reputation of the person that she apparently doesn't like, it needs to be settled, before you can move on to the idea of starting a band!! play on the street in front of your house.... eventually your mom will give in and let your friends over.
