My science teacher always has an explanation for why anything itches..lets say youe big toe itches she has a reason... if the top of your hand itches someone is thinking about you stuff like that.. So does anyone know what the reason for the roof of your mouth is?

I don't know, but I think it's cool that your science teacher is teaching folklore.

When the roof of my mouth itches, I'm getting sick and I wind up getting a horrible mouth ulcer. Incidentally, if you get mouth ulcers, try the Biotene products (gum, toothpaste/gel, mouthwash, mouth moistening liquid.) They really help! I almost never get them now--they help dry mouth and restore beneficial bacteria in your mouth. I know that's not a myth--that's the truth, Ruth!

sounds like an allergic reaction? have you eaten something you dont normally eat or put something in your mouth?
