For example there are bad apples in every race, but just beacuse some people are like that dosen't mean everyone is like that. I'm just wondering why do people continuously group people and say "oh they're like this and those people are like that."

It definitely isn't fair to base an opinion of a group of people upon how an individual within that group acts. You can only create an honest opinion of the lone individual - to do otherwise is to stereotype.

I would think that people judge groups based upon an individual because they do not know better - likely they have no other frame of reference upon which to judge people however this does not make the stereotype valid.

In my opinion, the only way you can understand someone is as an individual, not as a group stereotype.

Yes and no. During WW2. The Japanese were thought of as just Japanese to the world. But,after tehy attacked Pearl Harbour. They were evil coneiving Japs to the Americans and their allies. The number of Japanese fighter pilots and bombers on that day.Compared to their entire population was really small. The civilian Japanese didn't necessairly want to be involved in that attack or any war. But, they got dragged down with the decisions of their government. So,no it's not fair for an entire population or race of some ethnic group to get the shaft for what a few of their group have done. But, when it comes to survival. Having some predjudeces about someone or some other group is useful inorder to make sense of the world and survive. I know the Japanese-Americans got rounded up into special camps after that incident at Pearl Harbour. But, it was for National Security. In todays world.Everybody is monitored. Especially American-Muslims, British-Muslims,French-Muslims and the ones living in Israel. They lost their total privacy. But, the majority of non-Muslims living in these countries is safer as a result of this kind of predjudice or ethnic profiling.

No, it's not fair. I'm half white-half black and people were judging my mom for awhile. It's not fair at all and I think that we outa think back to where we came from...
In the beginning, God created Heaven and Earth and man, too. Only two beings, Adam and Eve. So, technically, we came from the same "great-great-great-grandparents," (more greats than that, but ya get tha point!) So we're all brothers and sisters and I think we oughta start actin' like 'em!
Just my oppinion.

No it's not fair. You judge the person for the way that individual acts.
Please don't follow the ignorant masses and start to group people together.

That's because everyone is a bit stereotypical regardless of who they are and what they might believe. But to answer your question, no, it is not fair to lump an entire race together because of bad experiences with an individual or a group. You know this or at least think it or you would not have asked this question.

Because only News shows do that. I don't base anything on anybody. Like the Great Martin Luther said more or less: Judge people not by their skin color; but the content of their character.

humans like to group and make generalizations...especially if their little pee brains can't grasp too many facts. Learned ppl do make generalizations....ignorant ppl do just about nothing but jump to conclusions and generalize.

of course not but if a person only sees a very few people of a given race, they often make assumptions.
